Horrible carrot cake. Stale, not fresh,made with tastless whip cream. Chocolate cake with rasperry even worse. Only lots of sugar. Waste of money
The women working the counter were as obnoxious as they were lazy. We thought perhaps the cake would be amazing. It wasn't. The cake we buy at the Shop-Rite bakery is better. Cheaper, too. Our first time to Benkert's...and the last.
We paid in full $140 two weeks in advance of our sons 3rd birthday for a sonic the Hedgehog cake. (It was a 10-12 person cake). We provided them a CLEAR photo of what we wanted, which they confirmed twice over the two weeks that the photo was fine for them to work from.
I went her for a cake tasting for my sister wedding and they treated us like we were an inconvenience. My mom and sister stuck it through but I walked out. Why put up with crude behavior? It was going to be a big wedding I guess they didn't need the business.
Cookies and cupcakes are unbelievably dry and flavorless. Chocolate cupcake with chololate icing on top with a flower icing on top od that and didnt taste anything. Flavorless through and through.
The day of, we showed up and the cake was a disaster! We were so upset because they ruined his 3rd birthday since the cake was a major part of what our son wanted on his birthday. We showed the manager the poor quality, how it lacked necessary details and asked for it to be repaired before 5pm that night (it was 10am). They said their decorator was out that day and they couldn't do it. I told the manager that we were told it was going to be "identical" and "100% like the photo" when we paid in full.
Long story short we needed to get our money back and our son never got any individual cake let alone the sonic cake he deserved. Do not go there if you want the cake to actually look presentable or be good.
Bought a large black and white cookie. Super dry and the icing on top was such a thin layer that if it did have flavor i couldnt tell.
